Authors Note: This is a retelling piece of Dead Man’s Path where I will explain what happened in the book and what I thought what the author’s purpose was.
Michael Obi was appointed as the new headmaster of the Nmuba School, he thought he could change this school into a top flight school. He was an arrogant hard working headmaster he changed the school in many ways and also harmed the village people around him by doing so by affecting the cultural being of the burial grounds. Michael was making the village better for years to come but he had no idea that that meant happiness for the village people, even after he had been told of the great deal that the burial ground meant to the people he flaunted them away by ignoring them and keeping the gardens in place.
Michael knew he was doing good for the village, but the elders weren’t pleased with the changes he had made to their village. He didn’t have any respect for their culture and decided that they were going to have to make a new path to use. When Michael told them that the next day he came to the school with damaged areas and he knew he had to change something about the school. Michael needed respect for the other culture for the school to be top flight he only had respect for what he thought.
